Abstract
Brain cancer is a significant health problem, with a notable change in the oxidative stress and antioxidant levels. Malondialdehyde (MDA) may change the structure of the cell membrane and later may lead to alterations in DNA at the cellular level. The 8-OHdG levels are increased in multiple cancer tissues and may be considered an indicator of the prognosis of most solid tumors. This study aimed to find out the possible relation between the MDA and 8-OHdG, along with exploring the role of blood sugar and HbA1c in the progression of brain tumors. This case- control study includes 60 brain tumor patients under treatment (GI), 60 brain tumor patients without treatment (GII), and 60 apparently healthy individuals as controls (GIII). The levels of the used biomarkers were evaluated by ELISA. MDA, 8-OHdG, RBS, and HbA1c median levels were significantly different between the studied groups, with their highest levels in the GI group (P
